2020-2021
Fall dance season Information

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis, we will be having smaller in-studio classes and also continuing to offer virtual classes (ZOOM) for all new and returning students. Please know our policies and procedures can, and likely will, change as we continue on throughout the season. Any changes will be clearly written, posted here, and emailed to all dancers and families.

Before coming to classes, please be sure to read and review our COVID-19 Safety Policies & Procedures and watch our short video (in the link below.) Additionally, we need all parents to review/sign and submit our “Dancers Code of of Conduct”, which outlines all aspects of the re-opening policies and procedures. This information can be found within the link below.

CSDA COVID-19 Safety Plan & Procedures

What’s New And What To Expect This Fall:

1.     We are open for classes! All classes listed on the 2020-2021 schedule will be available for dancers to take in-studio (space is limited). Dance classes begin on Monday, September 14.

2.     The majority of our 2020-2021 dance classes will also be available to take virtually (on ZOOM).

o   When registering, there will be two sessions listed for each class. One session will be for IN-STUDIO classes and the other will be for VIRTUAL (ZOOM) classes. Please register your dancer for whichever style of dance class works best for you and your family.

3.     Everyone (dancers, faculty, parents etc.) will be required to wear a face mask while at the studio. This includes having dancers wear masks during class. We understand that this will be a change for some dancers, but we want to keep everyone safe, healthy and continuing to dance. Masks will allow us to move around more during class and also allow us to have slightly larger class sizes.

4.     Only two of our studios will be in use (for the time being) to be able to properly distance our dancers.

5.     Our studio will be gridded with tape to ensure dancers remain as spaced apart as possible.

6.     We will be having smaller classes sizes and limiting the number of dancers in each in-studio class:

o   All classes will have a limit of 12 dancers per class (studio). Some classes will have even smaller classes due to style/age.

o   All ACRO classes will be strictly limited to 8 per class. Each dancer will be provided with their own acro mat to use during class.

o  All Kiddance/AcroDance Preschool classes will be limited to 6 dancers per class.

  •  ZOOM classes for dancers in our preschool program (ages 3-4) will have a separate schedule. These sessions will be released shortly.

  • All preschool classes (ages 3-4), including virtual classes, will be required to purchase a “prop box” that they will use all year. This will be your dancer’s individual box with wands, bean bags, scarfs, etc. Only your dancer will use the props in their box.

7.     When possible, we ask that all dancers come to class dressed for dance. We understand that some dancers may need to change for class at the studio. Please note, only one bathroom, per studio, will be available for changing before class. After each use, the bathroom will need to be cleaned and disinfected which may cause time delays.

8.     Our waiting room will not have any chairs, benches or seating. We ask that when possible, parents wait in their cars or return after class to pick-up their dancers. We understand that younger dancers (3-7) may need a parent to stay while they are in class. We ask that only one parent/guardian or relative stay in the waiting room for each student.

9.     This year, our classes have 5-minute transition times allotted at the end of each class. This is to allow safe transition times for dancers entering and exiting classes, socially distanced water breaks, and any bathroom time needed.

10.  There will be blocks of time where the studio will be closed for cleaning. Larger cleaning blocks are allotted in the schedule, where the studios will be closed, for a more thorough cleaning at least 1-2 times per day.

11. Dance shoes will be required for all classes this year. This includes acro, contemporary and modern classes. We suggest indoor sneakers for acro classes and jazz shoes for lyrical, contemporary and modern classes.

12. We will not be having ACRO placement classes for our returning dancers this season. Dancers in levels 2 and up will be emailed their placements before registration day (August 20). Dancers have been placed in the levels by the Acro Director/Instructors. Instructors will asses all dancers in each class for one month and then can move them up, or keep them in their current level.

13. Our Fall Registration opens on Tuesday, August 20

14.  We have a new, online appointment system, that will allow dancers and families to come in - one family at a time - to check out our space, help with registration, size for dance shoes, and familiarize themselves with our new policies and procedures. If you would like to schedule an appointment please visit us here ::
